3 weeks of Mr. Stuart Joseph

Birthdays seem to be the theme in March...My cousin in Boston had this little man 3 weeks ago weighing in at a modest 5 lb 8 oz, and I was fortunate enough to be in his company over the weekend. He's a tiny tot and sweet as can be. Congrats Bridget and Anthony on you're beautiful baby boy. xoxo*

3 decades of Miss Natalie Rose

A successful surprise @ Rayuela followed by Bud Lights @ Hacienda at 40c (superb place if w/ a large group) and dancing to the lovely 90's. Happy bday Nat...you're party dress and nude nylons were stunning! Also a shout-out to Carlos and his stupendous bowtie amongst other eye-catching flare.

All you FaceHunter fans...I thought we should revisit this foto and these shoes. Stacked, colorful, woven, buckles and lace-up, a nice melting pot of favorites. I'd pair em w some highwaisted denim dukes, a tee and some glossy lips...keep the focus on dem shoes. Think summer in the city <3>

If you can remember allllll the way back to the shows in sept. '07 you'll know which direction this summer will be taking us, if not, then take a stroll through Bergdorfs (leave your wallet at home) for a nice preview. For those of you w/ shallow pockets, hang tight bc before you know it H&M/Forever21 will carry all the seasons "must haves". Here are a few reminders as to what's around the corner:

*Think Missoni, a lot of mix and match w/ colors and prints also knits play a dominant role.

*New dyeing techniques, i.e. dip dyeing

*Subtle mismatching of colors, i.e. appearing to be tonal but close up are jarring 

*Pastels take on a new subversive edge moving away from "pretty"

*New texture perspectives, i.e. natural and synthetic fabrics come together

*Classic tailoring with unexpected fabrications, i.e. design content w/ an avant-garde sensibility

*New cutting techniques and detailed construction

*Leisure-wear becoming functional day-wear and glamorous

She & Him

She being Zooey Deschanel & Him being M. Ward, have collaborated their love for early 20th century pop into the birth of their new band, "She&Him". Zooey brings her harmonizing abilities from childhood choirs while Ward supports her with his acoustic skills on the guitar. The duet keeps things real by making music the old-fashioned way using only their hands, and as few machines as possible. The result of these twos efforts is Volume One. 

Fafi Fantasies

Hit up the Mac counter last night to check out the new Fafi line which is completely sold out aside from a few stragglers pictured above. The colors are super fun and perfect for spring, I picked up some new magenta lips complimented w yellow and smokey olive eyes. The entire palette is available in the norm Mac cosmetics, so just no cute Fafi girls, oh well.

Nightclub brunch

If you haven't had enough Saturday night wiggling in the club head over to the mpd for NERO brunch. Peroni's by the plenty. Dirty bass-heavy tracks. Tasty benedict and a sweet hostess with the mostess. But don't wear tights or nylons of any sort bc the wooden chairs are not sanded well and promote disasters that fingernail polish can't stand up to. Espec. if they're american apparel's overpriced, lacking-in-quality tights. Not sure if I'll come back to this place.

Spring Awakening

Leaving work today I felt a sudden spring awakening...grasped the feeling, marched over to the YSL counter and picked up a nice berry shade to rein in the new season. I decided to walk home (20 strts N 5 aves W) so wearing my new #28 Rouge Pure Shine I made the trek in my 5" stacked CK's nearly offing my feet (thnks to my Dr. Scholl's I avoided this), but my heels didn't make out too well. I've hit metal and it's time to visit my guy over on 35th and Madison with my tail btwn my legs. Happy almost spring xx.
